A Little Trip 3-26-12

Today we had 2 “sightings” First, our favorite loon, the one who comes first and leaves last each fall was here to see us.

When I went to get the mail I noticed that there were a couple of blooms on the Dianthus I had left last fall. What a breath of spring!

A couple of weeks ago, Bob answered an ad in the paper for a Weber grill. He got an answering machine, but told them he would like to buy it. When they returned the call he found out that they live in Granite Falls. We have been waiting for the “perfect day” to go pick it up and today is it!

As we headed west on Hwy #29 we saw an old District schoolhouse back in the woods. It’s interesting what you notice when the trees are bare of leaves. We will have to investigate later and see whose land it is on.

The sky looks so stormy, but beautiful-like it could rain any minute.

We arrived in Granite Falls and found the house we were looking for. They are moving on Thursday and offer Bob anything he wants in the garage! After 40 minutes we are back on the road.

Our next stop is Prinsburg, Minnesota. This is where the ladies who help us clean are from. The Firemen are having a pancake supper to raise money for new equipment. The pancakes are delicious and we see many friends.

When we got to Willmar we stopped at Menards and Best Buy. As we were heading north at 19th Ave., I looked to the west and the sunset was beautiful. Bob turned west on 19th Ave and we stopped to get these pictures.

We found it’s quite a challenge getting a picture with 4 lanes of traffic flowing and the wind blowing 30 mph!

It was a great day – sure hope the grill works!
